DRAGON-STAR is a three year European Commission FP7 project initiative seeking to support the Sino-European collaboration in 4 levels:
- Enhancing the quality of the Chinese participation in the Framework Programs and especially reinforcing the participation from less economically developed areas.
- Supporting the reciprocity originating from the signed EU-China Scientific Cooperation Agreement and the other bilateral initiatives.
- Supporting the bilateral cooperation in the broader field of innovation and especially technological cooperation between industrial players.
- Supporting the ongoing bilateral Scientific Cooperation dialogue and the other related initiatives.
Under the DRAGON-STAR project, a Travel Grant Scheme has been established that will enable European Research Lab representatives to hold meetings with Chinese counterparts and explore the possibility of setting up Joint Research Structures and relevant twinning activities. The action is expected to strengthen on‐going relationships and collaboration with Chinese Science Labs.
Interested parties are encouraged to submit applications for the travel grand along with a brief CV by November the 24th, 2014.
Applicants are required to be Researchers working for a private or public research institution based in one of EU’s Member States or in any of the Horizon 2020 Associated Countries and have already an officially established relationship with a Chinese private or public research institution and want to establish a permanent cooperation through forming a Joint Research Laboratory in China (For instance an MoU)

The travel costs to be covered are going to be no more than 3500 euros for each successful applicant
