The project aims to develop an innovative diagnostic system for on-line Acoustic Control (AC) of pumps to predict their safe operation time.
Sophisticated Multi-Pump Systems (MPS) are widely used in different industrial sectors such as the oil & gas industry, petrochemistry, power plants, materials production etc. All pumps are identified by high-speed rotating parts which have limited life-time. Pump failures result in enormous reparation cost. In some cases reparation is 100-400 times more expensive than preventive safety measures. Forecasting pump failures and replace worn-out parts in a timely manner can save significant amount of money for plant/machine operators.
